Berry is located on the South Coast of NSW and not only boasts lush dairy country and spectacular scenery but a number of fabulous award-winning wineries located only a short distance away. It’s a great place to visit any time of the year and the calibre of food and wine in the Shoalhaven region is outstanding.
Luxe South Coast organises upmarket food and wine tours for women in the Berry and stunning Shoalhaven Coast wine region. We host groups of ladies for Hen’s Parties, Birthday Parties and special occasions and it’s a fabulous and fun day out. Here, we’ve collated a brief overview of the wineries that we visit on our tours and the wines currently available for tastings.
Cambewarra Estate
Located about 20 minutes south of Berry at the foothills of the majestic Cambewarra Mountain this second generation family-run winery boasts a diverse range of premium award-winning wines, stunning views and is popular on the weekends with a ‘young and hip’ crowd.
Cambewarra Estate also offers an exquisite ‘High Tea’ in the vines with a delicious selection of sweets, savouries, tea and bubbles that we’ve included in out ‘High Tea + Bubbles’ Tour. This is such a unique experience and their gorgeous ‘Tea Party for Alice’ tea range is quite delightful with choices such as ‘Mr Grey’, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Cinderella’s Slipper’.

The Cellar Door offers tastings of their diverse range of wines that include: Frizzante, Coscato, Rose, Unwooded Chardonnay, Verdelho, Petit Rouge, Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon and White Fort.
Coolangatta Estate
Established in 1822, Coolangatta Estate is the site of the first European settlement on the South Coast of NSW. Located 10 minutes east of Berry, the winery is situated on the foothills of Coolangatta Mountain with gorgeous views over the Shoalhaven River and the original convict-built village is now surrounded by sprawling vineyards and landscaped grounds.
The Cellar Door can boast the title of being the ‘South Coast’s Most Awarded Winery’ and offers entirely estate-grown award-winning wines to sample that include: Chardonnay, Semillon, Verdelho, Sauvignon Blanc Verdelho, Savagnin, Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon and the Coolangatta Estate Tannat.
Mountain Ridge Wines
Located an easy 10 minute drive from Berry towards Seven-Mile Beach, Mountain Ridge is set on a 75 acre working farm perched up on a ridge of Coolangatta Mountain, with majestic views to Coolangatta, Berry, Saddleback and Cambewarra. On arrival, you’ll be greeted by the lush green Arneis vines growing on the left hand side of the driveway, and the Chardonnay vines on the right.
Their newly renovated Cellar Door boasts an indoor/outdoor area adjacent to the lawn with magnificent views. Their range includes: Semillon, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Merlot, Mountain Ridge Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, Moscato, Cabernet Merlot, Organic Cabernet Sauvignon, Organic Shiraz, Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, Moscato, Cabernet Merlot and a range of fortified wines and liqueurs that include Macadamia, Strawberry, Tropical and Watermelon liqueurs, Bramble and Tawny Port. A highlight here is their fantastic strawberry liqueur slushie (tasting pictured above) – absolutely divine!
Silos Estate
Located just 10 minutes south of Berry, this stunning 12 acre vineyard boasts seven varieties of grapes that include: Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec which are sold under Silos Estate brand, while its Wileys Creek label sources fruit from other wine growing regions in Australia.
The multi-award winning Cellar Door is set in the original Dairy Shed that dates back to 1870 where you can enjoy wine tastings in their gorgeous Barrel Room then browse a range of local produce and merchandise on offer including the Berry Alpaca Store.
Two Figs Winery
Located just 15 minutes from Berry, Two Figs is a stunning boutique winery and vineyard that sits on top of one of Mount Coolangatta’s foothills overlooking the Shoalhaven River and offers a simply breathtaking view of the river and beyond.
Well known for its award-winning wines it was recently judged best wine made on the South Coast. Their extensive range includes; Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chambourcin, Sienna, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Viognier, Frizzante Dulce, Brut Cuvée, and a range of specialty wines that include Sticky Fig and White Fort.
Luxe South Coast currently offer the ‘Wine, Vine + Dine’ Tour that includes visits to three South Coast wineries with lunch at one of the winery restaurants as well as the ‘High Tea + Bubbles’ Tour which includes a visit to three wineries with a gorgeous High Tea amongst the vines at Cambewarra Estate.
